Thanks again to François for pointing out the differences between the Mont-Blanc and Bourbon TY45s. After some searching, I discovered I had the Mont-Blanc edition. It is certainly of lesser quality compared to the Bourbon.

This is the updated and revised version of the model you can see on page 2. There are many significant differences.

In the last two photos, you can see the crane is moveable.

The Kobelco is 1:60 and is #K-47 from Diapet. The model was produced as K905, K909, and K935 that I have personally seen (perhaps there are others?) and from the overall dimensions, I believe K909 is reasonably accurate.

Thanks for posting the comparison photo of the Samsung SE210 excavators. The same variations also exist marked as an MX222 so there are a total of 4 "different" pieces. I only collect casting variations and not the paint variations. I actually prefer the look of the earlier paint scheme as shown in your photo on the right-hand side but found the newer version first.

Shovelman,

I had never seen that model before (as for quite a lot of what you display here, by the way).
I had a look at the McElroy website: http://www.mcelroy.com/it/fusion/900tracstar.htm
It says a "fusion machine": I understand that the principle is used to weld together thermoplastic pipe sections, based on heat and pressure.
Correct? Can you tell us more about that model: is it plastic-made? What is the scale? Manufacturer? Did you get it from McElroy direct?

Thanks again for sharing those very rare models with us.

Hi Guy,

You are absolutely correct about the way the unit works! This video explains it all much better than I could write:

The model is made of plastic and purchased it at Conexpo a long time ago. As Laurent guessed, it is 1:25 scale and there is also another smaller TRACSTAR 500 Series II model which I have as well. It is yet to be unpacked.
