Many New Cat® Machines Debut at Intermat
The Caterpillar exhibits at Intermat 2012 will include more than 60 Cat® machines—many of them new and updated models. Caterpillar, in cooperation with the Cat dealer in France, Bergerat Monnoyeur, will have three different exhibit areas totaling more than 6,500 square meters of floor space to showcase the latest Cat machines, technology and services.
The main indoor stand, J023 in Hall 5B, features more than 40 Cat machines, 20 of them on display for the first time in Europe. An outdoor display area will feature machines for solid waste, recycling and demolition customers. An outside demonstration area will enable visitors to see Cat machines in action.
New Cat machine introductions at Intermat will range in size from the 301.7D mini excavator, weighing in at about 1.7 tonnes, to the massive 775G off-highway truck, which is capable of hauling more than 63 tonnes and has a loaded weight of about 110 tonnes. The broad range of machines displayed includes a full representation of Cat paving products. Those products are reviewed in a separate press release.
The innovative design of the 966K CVT wheel loader will take center stage at Intermat. Equipped with a Cat Constant Velocity Transmission, the wheel loader delivers superior fuel economy, enhanced performance and easier operation. The CVT doesn’t require a torque converter and there are no gears to shift. The result is significant efficiency gains compared to conventional drive trains—achieved at lower initial costs than hybrid and electric drive machines.
Caterpillar will display additional wheel loader innovations in the K Series small wheel loaders—the 924K, 930K and 938K. Featuring a new Intelligent Hydrostatic drive system, K Series models are equipped with a front-axle differential lock, new cooling package, and new operator station with automatic climate control.
Caterpillar also will introduce the new F Series Backhoe Loaders at Intermat. The 428F and 432F will be displayed. F Series models feature a new loader linkage that provides greater lift and dump heights, as well as increased lift capacity. Specific-model enhancements include an electronic torque limiter for enhanced hydraulic performance and power management and a new torque converter for smooth roading characteristics.
A number of Cat excavators will make their European debuts at Intermat. The 312E, 320E and 323E feature Cat engines that meet Stage IIIB emissions requirements. All of the new excavators offer enhanced performance, controllability and versatility. In the Cat mini excavator line, the new 301.7D and the new 302.4D will be displayed.
The updated D6T track-type tractor also will be introduced at Intermat. This popular workhorse meets Stage IIIB emissions requirements and features a hydraulically driven demand fan that works in concert with an all-new cooling package and advanced electronic engine controls to deliver fuel savings of as much as 6 percent, depending on the application.
In addition to machines, the Caterpillar stands will feature Cat industrial engines, as well as areas dedicated to practical, business driven innovations, technology and services designed to help customers succeed.
